Nail Aftercare Tips to Prolong Your Salon Visit

You’ve just received a beautiful manicure! To keep your nails looking gorgeous and healthy, here are some expert nail care tips to help you maintain and extend the life of your manicure.

Just like your skin needs regular hydration and your body benefits from nightly moisturizing, your nails need care to stay healthy and strong. Well-nourished cuticles are key to keeping your nails looking smooth, hydrated, and promoting healthy growth. To achieve this, we highly recommend applying cuticle oil at least once or twice a day.

Here are some of our favorite cuticle oils that we’ve tried, tested, and love!

Exposure to harsh chemicals can quickly lead to chipped polish and weakened nails. Everyday tasks like washing dishes, cleaning with strong products, or even gardening can take a toll on your beautiful manicure. To keep your nails protected and your polish looking fresh, we highly recommend wearing gloves during these activities. Not only do gloves create a protective barrier, but they also help maintain the strength and health of your nails.

By taking this simple precaution, you can significantly extend the life of your manicure and keep your nails strong, healthy, and looking fabulous.

It’s easy to use your nails to scratch off a label, pop open a can, or tackle tasks that require a little force. But while it may seem harmless, using your nails as tools can lead to breakage, chipping, and even long-term damage. Your manicure deserves better!

To keep your nails strong and beautiful, always reach for the right tools—whether it’s a bottle opener, scraper, or scissors. By avoiding unnecessary stress on your nails, you’ll protect their health and ensure your manicure lasts longer. Treat your nails with care, and they’ll stay stunning and resilient!

We can’t emphasize this enough! As tempting as it may be, peeling off nail polish or acrylics can severely damage the top layer of your nail bed and leave your nails weak and brittle. If your manicure starts to lift or chip, resist the urge to peel it off. Instead, protect your nail by placing a small bandage over it and visit our salon for a professional removal and repair.

If you absolutely must remove a broken nail yourself—and there’s no open wound or bleeding—we recommend soaking the nail in acetone to gently loosen the polish or acrylic. After soaking, use a nail clipper to carefully remove the broken part. This approach helps minimize damage and keeps your nails healthier in the long run. Remember, a little patience and care go a long way in maintaining beautiful, strong nails!
